What Does It Mean to Be GAF Certified?
GAF certification ensures our customers that we have met the rigorous training and certification requirements set forth by GAF. It also means that when we use GAF roofing products, we can offer GAF Enhanced Warranties – which are among the most comprehensive in the industry. Only 7 percent of U.S. roofers qualify for GAF certification.
GAF Certified™ contractors often give back to the communities in which they are located, through the GAF Community Contractor Program. GAF donates roofing materials and GAF certified contractors donate labor to initiatives like Habitat for Humanity, affordable housing programs, and disaster relief.
How Does a Company Become GAF Certified?
To become GAF certified, a company must meet GAF’s exacting requirements. We are required to provide proof that we meet all state licensing requirements, offer worker’s compensation benefits, and carry at least $1 million in liability coverage.
We must demonstrate a commitment to quality roofing services and to ensuring our GAF factory-trained professionals have up-to-date education on the latest roofing technology. GAF certification also requires that a contractor has a good reputation in their community, and that we treat both customers and other contractors with professionalism and respect.
Additionally, we are required to have positive customer reviews, a satisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau, and a good credit rating.
What Does GAF Master Elite® Mean?
GAF-certified companies that exceed industry standards may apply for Master Elite® certification. This indicates that the company is trustworthy and highly knowledgeable, and that they are entrusted to offer GAF’s Golden Pledge® Limited Warranty on qualifying roofing systems. This is one of the strongest and most extensive warranties in the business. GAF Master Elite certification is valid for one year and must be renewed annually.
